There is a myriad of sporting teams and organisations on the Central Coast for those who may wish to join, get involved or simply spectate.
Rugby, netball, dancing, soccer, surfing, karate, tennis, swimming, bowls, tai-chi or mah-jong – whatever your interest, there is a sport for everyone on the Central Coast from beginner to elite.
The Central Coast is home to the Central Coast Academy of Sport, a not-for-profit sporting organisation that exists to provide locally based sports development opportunities for athletes, coaches, officials and administrators of the NSW Central Coast region.
The area also boasts its own elite sporting team, with the Central Coast Mariners the first team to represent the region on the national and international sporting stage. Bluetongue Central Coast Stadium, overlooking the Gosford waterfront is the Central Coast Mariners’ home ground, with thousands of fans heading to the stadium for home games.
The region is developing a bid to host its own National Rugby League team, the Central Coast Bears, which has received overwhelming community support.
